Christchurch Fireworks Event

Just want to say i thought the band were fantastic - was amazing to see so many people enjoying the music and dancing to it, often bands are placed at events and they play old songs that dont suit everyones taste but i just wanted to say i really loved the music last night and was amazed to see people of all ages enjoying it.

Worcester Live

Hi All at Gugge 2000. I wanted to write and congratulate you on a great series of performances at Worcester a few weeks ago. We thoroughly enjoyed every note – especially the guys laying on their backs. Being seriously attracted to your performances outside the Guildhall, we overshot our time limit in the car park! The “Insanity” CD is brilliant – Track 6 really wakes me up in the mornings on the way to work. Thanks to you all for a wonderfully, memorable experience. I hope our paths will cross again sometime.

Worcester Live

Hi, I saw you today in Worcester centre, your band brought tears to my eyes (good tears) – watching their passion and enthusiasm for what they love doing J I took some videos and wondered if you’d like them for your site? They are quite large though, so might have to load onto a CD maybe and send to you? I’ll try to email them though.

Worcester Live

Thank you, thank you, thank you, you made my day today. Came into town feeling down and in pain, came home feeling elated. I am sure you have made many more people happy with your performances today. It was the first time I had heard you and had to come back for the second performance and am now hooked!!! After buying your CD,s I can put them on anytime and see you all performing in my mind, a big well done and thank you to the whole band keep it up. P.S. Barnsley the other gugge band you were talking about come from Yorkshire my home county, well known for brass bands but hey , they need a bit of your umph!

GUGGE 2000

Hiya, we just wanted to say thanx for the way you all performed and entertained us on Bank Holiday Monday this August.

There we were taking in all the sights and sounds of the Annual Bank Holiday street fair in Devizes when we accidentally found you performing in The Brittox. We had never before seen or heard of Gugge music but we were more than pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.

We caught about half of your act and were left wanting more,so we were well pleased to here that you would be performing again later that afternoon. We saw you all coming back into the Brittox and made sure that this time we got a front row view of you all, the experience is hard to put into words but, as we understand Gugge means 'Happy Music' and that is deffinately the way it makes you feel.

Thank you once again for the experience, we truly hope to catch you all again so will be keeping an eager eye on your gig guide.

Yours very happily
Tony and Claire Earley

great !

hello

Just a quick message - I saw you in Devizes last Sunday and you were great 1 - sadly I could not stay long as I was just passing through - It was a nice surprise to hear you ( and see you too :-) )

I would love to see you again , but sadly I live in the far north east ( its not that sad really - The north is not grim )

Wish you all the best with your band

Kind regards

Jim .

Best Music Ever

Visited Wells today and we listened to every tune and song you all played.

I have been a musician since I was 14 years old and I like all kinds of music but grew up with 50's and 60s music and my Dad liked brass band music.......

My girlfriend and I loved every minute of your playing today and look forward to the next chance we get to listen to you again.

We traveled from Bristol to Wells just for a day out and you made our day.

Thanks for the great music................

Kevin and Sandie.

Wells

Hello band members,

first saw you in Boscombe 2009..bought the CD and dance around the kitchen to it. Saw you last week in Boscombe after the air show. Have been telling my friends in Wells about you and couldn't believe it this morning when I could hear you when I was at the bottom end of the High Street....recognised you instantly. Rushed up to the Market Place straight away to enjoy another brilliant performance....you made my day! Please come to Wells again.

I defy anyone to watch/listen to you without grinning from ear to ear, you should be prescribed by the NHS!

Keep having fun and giving pleasure,

Pam Robertshaw,

Wells and Boscombe

Your Wells Gig

Well, I heard you all from a distance in the Market place in Wells yesterday and I am so glad that I went to investigate. I was totally mesmerized. All of your skills and such energy and enthusiasm really touched me. My husband had been a tuba player many years ago, and after 30 years of teaching locally in Cheddar, he retired and may have revived his love of band music, but within weeks he was diagnosed with Leukaemia and after an 11 month battle, he sadly lost his fight almost two years ago. This is why I found your performance yesterday, so moving. I only heard you for about 15 minutes before you stopped for a break, but I have since enjoyed listening to your 2 CD’s. My son lives near Devizes so I am hoping he will take his children along to watch you in the morning – I wish I was closer as I’d be there too if I could.

Thank you all for stirring so many happy memories in me .

Brilliant

Hi everyone,

Well, I'm so pleased you weren't allowed to stop in Bath, and that you diverted to Bristol.

We'd been to the Jazz Day only a few streets away, and were on our way home when you appeared from your coach. Intrigued, the eight of us watched as you made your way down to the water's edge and began to perform. I've NEVER seen anything like it. My hands were sore through clapping along and at the end of each tune. My feet ached from jumping up and down in time to the beat, and I didn't stop singing all the way home. It was absolutely brilliant, and I hope to see you again soon.

I've not yet checked out your Gig guide, but if you're in this vicinity (or EVEN in Bath!!!!) we'll come along again and see you. It was a wonderful afternoon's entertainment. Just sad we had to catch a bus or we would have stayed for your second half.

Anyway, congratulations ALL of you - it certainly lifted Bristol's CIty Centre.

Good luck - I'll be watching out for you.

Nicky xx

Saw you in Worcester

Hello Guggee Band

My husband and I came to Worcester town yesterday and saw you for the first time. We are both music lovers including mainly rock music, but were absolutely gobsmacked by your performance. What an absolute treat you all were. Your enthusiasm and entertainment value was superb.

I was pretty miffed having to spend £7.00 for parking in the town on Saturday but having seen you all play it was worth every penny.

Please let me know if you are ever coming to Bicester - after all we have our very famous Bicester Village here, and we could do with you all to liven things up here in boring Bicester.!!

Many thanks guys and gals -you were terrific!!

Tetbury

We were on a coach “Mystery Trip” from Yorkshire over the bank holiday and ended up at Tetbury on the Monday morning. What a treat we had in store as we walked up the High Street to hear and finally see your Gugge Band outside the Market Hall at 11.45am!!! We were enthralled for over 45mins with the music and your energy that you put into every piece played, we purchased a DVD to remind us of the happy time we spent listening to your music, but I have just checked your web-site and note that you are playing at Boscombe Pier on the Thursday during the Bournemouth Air Show, and as we are on holiday in Christchurch that week, we have put you on our “must see list”!!! Once again many thanks for a most exciting performance, and making it a “Mystery Trip” to remember.

See you in August.
Best Wishes

New CD Insanity?

Dear Gugge 2000, thankyou very much for my CD of "Insanity" which came yesterday, yet another fantastic CD! I love it. We will be down at our van in the Bournemouth area, from 21st June - 26th July, have you any plans to play in the town centre or near by, during that time? Hope so, I'd love to see & hear you all again!!!

Best wishes to you all from Gillian Emmett. x

Just got your new cd and listened to it. Really Good. When played on a decent system it comes over superbly. Previous CD's , I dont think, have'nt quite captured how good you sound live but I think this is the nearest yet.

What next - Britain's Got Talent !!!
Looking forward to seeing you at the folk festival

Bournemouth Busk

Hello Bandmaster and Gugge2000

We just happened upon the tail end of your performance while shopping in Bournemouth yesterday. Wow! Your energy, vitality and enthusiasm really livened up a dismal grey day; thank you all very much. It’s so good to see people of all ages having fun together and putting smiles on so many faces in the audience (just love the costumes too!).

I hadn’t heard of Gugge2000 or guggenmusik but have now checked out your website which is great – very informative, clear and comprehensive and easy to navigate.

We’ll certainly keep our eye out for future gigs.

Kind regards

Dear Bandmaster & team,

Just a quick e-mail to say how fantastic you all were yesterday, I had to send this e-mail as a thank you and to congratulate you all for your entertainment.

It was a pleasure to listen to you all play and to show how enthusiastic you all were, in particular the lead role from the bandmaster, truly excellent and entertaining it made the day!!

I was particularly delighted to see the smiles on the faces of the majority of runners and their appreciation of you by taking time to applaud you as they went by.

Both my wife and I look forward to seeing and listening to you all again next year.

Keep going and thank you.

Barnsley Guggen Festmas

Your band came to the festival in Barnsley this week-end. We saw them on Saturday 28/11/09 and really enjoyed the fun and the music which was played. It was brilliant to watch the band really enjoying what they were doing although it was a cold day. It actually snowed early Saturday morning, just outsde of Barnsley!!
Please pass on out thanks to all the people involved in bringing the band from "the small fishing village" of Bournmouth up to Barnsley.
It was so enjoyable.

What can we say but a huge ‘thank you’ for coming along with your bus load of band members and helping to create such a lovely, long overdue, party atmosphere at Boscombe Pier last night. It was such a happy performance! We do hope you will come and repeat it very soon……….
We had many positive comments after you had disappeared.
Please pass this on to all the fellow instrumentalists, banner wavers, bucket collectors, supporters.
We thoroughly enjoyed everything about the performance.

Worcester. Today

My husband and I saw you and the band today and I had to contact you to say how wonderful it was.

We hope that we will see you again some time. Perhaps on the television

Thank you so much.
Gwynneth and Stewart Baker

Thankyou so much for your kind comments. It is always great to receive feedback about our performance and even better to know that you enjoyed it!!

It was a long coach journey from Bournemouth (4 hours each way) but we returned happy if a little tired.

TV? Ummm not sure about that, we prefer a live audience!

Thanks again for making contact.

A Grand Affair !

Dear Steve

Thank you and Gugge2000 so much for a real spectacle of entertainment in Tetbury over Bank Holiday Monday. Once again the band were a huge hit with everyone and with the weather very much kinder to us this year, it is hoped the band enjoyed themselves a little more also. Much bigger crowd this year and no trouble so we are well pleased.

I will be in touch.

You made my day in Lucerne :)

Hey everybody

You're playing RIGHT NOW just next to our office building here in Lucerne, and it sounds sooooo good. It really is amazing what you guys did (and are doing) ... The sound is a bit different, right, but it's just ace. I mean, you're giving such tunes to Lucerne! The best place to be during "Fasnacht" (carneval). You just made my day =)

Just please make me a favour and come back next year!!!
Thanks for the good vibes, and take care

Came down to Bournemouth last Sunday for the day. The day started out fine a bit of sunshine, a couple of brave surfers at the pier, then just as the day was getting wet and dull Gugge 2000 appeared and brightened every bodies day. Once again good to hear and see you.

Look forward to seeing you soon

Thanks

Hi all Gugge 2000,
Thank you very very much for this wonderful weekend with you. I hope, you are fully recovered from the hectic schedule! The impressions of this weekend I’ll never forget. It is the same feeling in me like Manne has, all of you we have taken in our hearts and the best thing which happened, is having you for friends. A woman of the audience in Cannstatt said: your music shows high spirits and enthusiasm.
Thank you for all

BIG F 2008

We want to say thank you for the fantastic weekend with you. The meeting with all the other groups, the audience in Poole, Wareham and Bournemouth, the versatility of different Guggemusic, and the wonderful feeling being a part of this famous festival. And we know how much work and organisation is behind a festival like yours, so it is great, beside this work showing always a smile and a lot of cordiality.

And I’m sure, if the weather had been better, there would be many, many visitors on Saturday. But we had on Sunday.

We all look forward to November. Here are some german newspaper cuttings about the event (in german).

BIGF 08

I went to both the Sat. night event in Wareham and Sun. afternoon in Bournemouth. I felt bad for you all as the weather on Sat. was dreadful and you didn't get the big audience you deserve. Never the less - a very good show.

Sunday was fantastic. Bournemouth was lovely and sunny and the audience really got into it - including me! A better location with better acoustics, I think. All the bands were good but I I particularly liked Rumliggeischter and of course Gugge 2000. I overheard a woman speaking to her husband on her mobile phone – she said she didn't know what time she'd be home because there were bands playing in the square and Gugge 2000 was going to play and she had to stay because you are her favourite.... I know exactly how she feels!

I bought the CD and blasted it all the way home in the car – I even got lost and thought so what, I'm having a great time! I listen to the CD on my computer with my headphones (like now) because my husband thinks I'm nuts playing it so loud!!

Some of my favourite songs are Hero, Showstoppers (Medley) particularly Phantom of the Opera, Queen (Medley) beginning, and Go Home. But my all time favourites are Basket Case and Alex, it gives me chills and makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and makes me want to dance, dance, dance! And judging from the crowd on Sun. I'm not alone. Please play Basket Case and Alex at every performance - great crowd pleasers!

The finale was unlike anything I have ever experienced - I could feel the music beating and vibrating through my chest – WOW!

I hope to see you all again soon,

My children and I saw you for the 4th year running at Wimborne Folk Festival on Saturday 14th June 2008. As always for us, you are the highlight of our day out!

I enjoyed watching the crowds some of the time whilst you were performing and seeing the happiness spreading through people, even usually reserved people were clapping smiling and swaying - FANTASTIC!!!

We just beamed from ear to ear the whole time you were playing and we brought and a cd so we could enjoy the happiness any time we want. Can’t wait to see you again ASAP! And thank you for making our weekend!

Tetbury Woolsack Race

Dear Steve,

On behalf of the Tetbury Woolsack Committee may I say how pleased and delighted we all were with the Gugge 2000 band. Your enthusiasm and sheer enjoyment of playing is infectious and helped raise the spirits of all who attended on what was a cold, wet, windy and generally horrible day. Without doubt Gugge 2000 was the best attraction to hit Woolsack Day for a good number of years and we hope those in the band enjoyed themselves, even though half the attractions were forced to surrender to the elements. It was an absolute delight for a worried committee to see people who thought it was that enjoyable that they were dancing in the rain. Now everyone in the town is talking about “the Gugge Band.” I am in no doubt that a body of persons in Tetbury will have me lynched if you do not come back to visit us in 2009 so can you please enter the date in your diary, Bank Holiday Monday 25 May 2009. I will be in touch.

Please extend our most sincere thanks to all in Gugge 2000.

Bournemouth Square

Dear sir,

myself (martin judd) and my fiancée (jenni wylde) went out for a lovely sunday lunch which turned out to be fantastic !

we unexpectedly had great weather considering what had been forecast that day......So we decided to take a walk into town and find a taxi and make our way home........however !....as we walked down the hill towards Debenhams we heard music coming from the park, we continued down the hill to see what was going on when yourself and the band arrived into bournemouth square. "wow"....we stood by the bin off to your right next to the raised brass section. We stood amazed at the sound, uniforms and complete unity of the band, all at once it felt like this is the music ive always wanted to own, we asked "steve" from the brass section if you had ever had this recorded only to find you were selling the cd`s at the front, my apologies to "steve" as i just walked away to buy a CD before you were gone forever ! It was the first thing we put on when we got home and it now makes me want to go out and buy a new stereo. Ive worked at the bournemouth international centre providing backstage security and overall security for the past three years. I am now situated at the pavillion (westover road) as a front of house operative, ive overseen many shows of all genres and think that it would be wonderful for your band to consider having your very own show for all the paying public to enjoy.

Thankyou for the most fantastic end to a wonderful day, we look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.

Martin Judd & Jennifer Wylde

p.s. your album sounds just as good as it did on the day.

I was mesmerised by the music as I hit the shops in Exeter today. I have never heard such beautiful music, and to see everyone of the band having so much fun made it even better. i was supposed to be doing the dreaded Christmas shopping but I was rooted to the spot, needless to say I have now got the cd on playing as loud as possible. Thankyou so much for making my day. I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas

Saw you today in Exeter High Street - absolutely incredible! I have rarely enjoyed a musical experience like it...and to see a huge crowd gathering, all enjoying it - tapping their feet and smiling - as well as seeing the band enjoying playing it...FABULOUS!! I wish I could see more of you :o)

Wareham Father Christmas Event

Just wanted to say what an excellent evening was spent watching you in Wareham on Sunday. Ben was kind enough to drop me a CD around earlier in the week (worth every penny) and I did mention I'd try and get to the Wareham gig as unfortunately you are not doing Bournemouth this Christmas. Just so glad the rain held off, I made the trip especially to watch yourselves and was not disappointed!
I have Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism, and your music always raises my spirits, I often try and get to see as many of your local gigs as I can, and have all three of your cds, which are all excellent. I think your music makes it feel Christmassy.
Only thing about Wareham, was where I chose to stand during the pre procession gig in the courtyard near somerfields - I leaned against the muralled wall, and was stood there about 10 mins before I realised there was a rather large spider hanging in a web not a few inches from my head......... hope it enjoyed the show as much as I did, you would have had an impromptu dancing display if it had dropped onto me....!!
Thanks again
Cheers

Kingston Xmas Market

WOW!

A friend and I were shopping in Kingston on Sunday and saw the band; OMG it was great! We especially liked your take on “Silent Night” and the Abba medley was fabulous too; it made a fairly horrendous shopping trip a lot more fun; with all the cross-looking shoppers who were all apparently oblivious to the fact that it wasn’t actually Christmas Eve with the pace and fury in their step! Anyway, it was great to take time out and watch you guys. The level of enthusiasm and fun being had by all was genuinely awesome! Thank you for really brightening up our day; we love the CD too and hope you’ll come back to Kingston again! Having never heard you before we were really taken aback by the brilliant display you put on and we really enjoyed being able to participate and cheer you all on.

Well done and thank you to all.

Jenny, (Twickenham).

...and another !

Saw and heard the band at the weekend in Kingston. Some music, some spectacle, some enthusiasm. Fantastic.

More from Stanpit Fireworks

..... £5000 worth of fireworks were set off, there were around 20 stalls, and a particular highlight was the Gugge Band, playing show music on classical instruments in carinval costumes. "They have played for the last three years and they were absolutely brilliant," said Mr Crumpler from Jumpers Common.

Celtic Manor - corporate event

Hi Steve
Firstly, thank you to you and all of the band for Tuesday, it was great to see you all genuinely enjoying yourselves on stage and you got the big thumbs up from what I believe to be the most cynical members of the audience, the crew! We loved it and so did our client, in my view a great success. Thanks again to you, Glenn, Mike and your musical director, you were all a refreshing pleasure to work with

Please don’t hesitate to pass me on as a reference to anyone who shows interest in Gugge 2000 for this kind of thing in future.

Kind regards Jules

We have just returned from this years Great Dorset Steam Fair, as exhibitors, and our admiration grows year by year as we have enjoyed your music. This year culminated with two members standing on our table playing brass instruments. AWESOME. The music and band are both entertaining and original.

From the youngest to the oldest members, you all look as though you are having a great time playing, this is passed on to the people listening.

Will see you again next year. Thank you.

Chit Chat

How lovely to hear such jolly music on Wednesday night in the gardens at Bournemouth. I was on holiday from Devon and have been playing in a Brass band for more years than I would like to believe!!! What a refreshing change to hear your style it was new to me and very exhilorating (excuse the spelling) Even my husband enjoyed it and he is anti-brass as he does not share my love for brass music, give him Oasis, Embrace any day but when you played Green Day he was converted! Just looked you up on the internet like you said and hey presto. If you are in North Devon look us up or find us on the web, type in Holsworthy Town Band in Google and it should come up with something.

Yours Sue Lyle Euphonium/Tenor Horn player, Secretary of Holsworthy Town Band.

New CD

Hi Gugge 2000, even here in New Zealand we can hear your tunes. Well done and congratulations on the great new CD.
Before the CD could be put into our hall of greatness along with the other 2 Gugge 2000 CD's we had to put it through a series of stringent tests.

1. It easily passed the toe tap and sing along loudly test.

2. Then followed the drinking of beer test with the volume set at max yet again passed with flying colors.

3. We then had the playing continuously test but unfortunately had to abort this at about 2:30am when the neighbor's tried to gate crash by tapping the window, we still count this as a pass because the tapping and shouting were definitely in time with the music.

4. The most important test, to bring back happy memories of watching and listening to the sounds of Gugge 2000.

When's the next CD due?

Cheers
Bass Blaster Pete

Kingston-upon-Thames Gig

We were shopping in Kingston on Thames a couple of weeks back (enough to drive you nuts) when we came across you performing in the town centre on one of our few dry days! Absolutely fantastic, and cheered us up no end. Unfortunately we could not hang around to have a chat or find out if you had a CD for sale as our parking fee was running out, and since it was privatised, we'd probably find our car crushed or removed! We'll watch out for any appearances up this way.

All the very best
The Milligans

Yoooooooo Hooooooo

I saw you perform to-day in Kingston , I was there on a visit before heading back to the West Country. You were MAGIC !!. Well done to you all. You were so entertaining.

Thank you all
Joani PS Please come to Plymouth.

Hello to all Gugge2000 from the Chaosguggen from Germany

we arrived well back in Germany. Thanks to all hosts, busdrivers and all other helpers in the background for this unforgetable weekend. We were together with very good friends, had a good audience in Bournemouth and in Christchurch, the weather was fine, so we had all, for being happy.

And we are sure, one day we`ll see Stonehenge without beeing wet. J

Dear Gugge 2000, all people are gone, the tent is down, all things are replaced, the festival area is empty, nothing any more you can see from the festival. BUT our heart is still "burning", and we will all keep in our mind and in our heart, what a great weekend we have had together. New friends like Gugge 2000 have come to our festival and had made fantastic Guggamusig. It´s you, who made this festival succesfull and great as it has been. Thank you very much for all your efforts you have taken to come to our festival. We really appriciate it. Thank you again and i´m sure we´ll see each other again. Hey Gugge 2000, we have seen you at the Gugge Night in Neuhausen September 2006, and we were most impressed by the real Guggesound you have! It must be quite difficult to run a Guggeband without having direct contact or contest with Guggebands. But even without having that in mind your sound and your band is really impressive. How and where did you learn that? I bought your CD, and special thanks to the guy selling it and giving his last badge to me, which was a special gift to my best friend! Dear Gugge 2000, Big F what a weekend...... the enthusiasm, the musicians, the costumes, the fun, blood sweat and yes tears (of joy). I dare anyone to say there has been a better gig in the south of England this year? I am proud to say I was there and was part of it, Thank you Gugge 2000, everyone in Bornemouth should be proud of you. And should hold you up as an advert of true dedication and briiliant musicians. A very tired but happy organiser of the Big F - Chris. PS, the amount of people that were there, was a staggering 6000

What a great weekend of guggen music. I really enjoyed all the bands music. A very well organised weekend. I listed to Chaos Guggen at Swanage on Saturday afternoon and all the bands at Wareham, that was a great atmosphere there and everyone played so well and with a large crowd too. Then I listened to the three bands in the town centre and then in the park. Gugge 2000 sounding excellant.
