A Grand Affair !

Thank you and Gugge2000 so much for a real spectacle of entertainment in Tetbury over Bank Holiday Monday. Once again the band were a huge hit with everyone and with the weather very much kinder to us this year, it is hoped the band enjoyed themselves a little more also. Much bigger crowd this year and no trouble so we are well pleased.

Thank you very much that you have found some time to play for us at our birthday party in Lucerne. The spontaneous acceptance and the fantastic Gugge sound from UK were a wonderful present for all our guests and us.

You're playing RIGHT NOW just next to our office building here in Lucerne, and it sounds sooooo good. It really is amazing what you guys did (and are doing) ... The sound is a bit different, right, but it's just ace. I mean, you're giving such tunes to Lucerne! The best place to be during "Fasnacht" (carneval). You just made my day =)

Gugge 2000 !

Came down to Bournemouth last Sunday for the day. The day started out fine a bit of sunshine, a couple of brave surfers at the pier, then just as the day was getting wet and dull Gugge 2000 appeared and brightened every bodies day. Once again good to hear and see you.

My 50th Birthday Party !

It's Sarah here whos 50th birthday party you attended on the 3rd of Jan, i would just like to extend my thanks to you and your band members for making my birthday so special, i was totally shocked and amazed that when the curtains went back to see you all standing there on the stage, i have been a huge fan of gugge 2000 since i first saw you in Bournemouth many years ago, and thank you very much for the cd you gave me, everybody at the party thought you were all amazing the music the energy and happiness that you give out is infectious, people are still talking about you even now, i think you have even more fans now who want to know more about the band and where they can see you perform, so i have given them your website hope that is ok! Just sorry that i never got to say thank you to you all personally and hope you have all warmed up now after making you all wait out in the freezing cold. Just like to thank you all very much once again for your fantastic performance and hope one day i have the excuse to ask you to perform again. Wareham Fireworks 2008

BIG F 2008

We want to say thank you for the fantastic weekend with you. The meeting with all the other groups, the audience in Poole, Wareham and Bournemouth, the versatility of different Guggemusic, and the wonderful feeling being a part of this famous festival. And we know how much work and organisation is behind a festival like yours, so it is great, beside this work showing always a smile and a lot of cordiality.

And I’m sure, if the weather had been better, there would be many, many visitors on Saturday. But we had on Sunday.

BIGF 08

I went to both the Sat. night event in Wareham and Sun. afternoon in Bournemouth. I felt bad for you all as the weather on Sat. was dreadful and you didn't get the big audience you deserve. Never the less - a very good show.

Sunday was fantastic. Bournemouth was lovely and sunny and the audience really got into it - including me! A better location with better acoustics, I think. All the bands were good but I I particularly liked Rumliggeischter and of course Gugge 2000. I overheard a woman speaking to her husband on her mobile phone – she said she didn't know what time she'd be home because there were bands playing in the square and Gugge 2000 was going to play and she had to stay because you are her favourite.... I know exactly how she feels!

I bought the CD and blasted it all the way home in the car – I even got lost and thought so what, I'm having a great time! I listen to the CD on my computer with my headphones (like now) because my husband thinks I'm nuts playing it so loud!!

Some of my favourite songs are Hero, Showstoppers (Medley) particularly Phantom of the Opera, Queen (Medley) beginning, and Go Home. But my all time favourites are Basket Case and Alex, it gives me chills and makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and makes me want to dance, dance, dance! And judging from the crowd on Sun. I'm not alone. Please play Basket Case and Alex at every performance - great crowd pleasers!

The finale was unlike anything I have ever experienced - I could feel the music beating and vibrating through my chest – WOW!

Wimborne Folk Festival

Hi there!

My children and I saw you for the 4th year running at Wimborne Folk Festival on Saturday 14th June 2008. As always for us, you are the highlight of our day out!

I enjoyed watching the crowds some of the time whilst you were performing and seeing the happiness spreading through people, even usually reserved people were clapping smiling and swaying - FANTASTIC!!!

We just beamed from ear to ear the whole time you were playing and we brought and a cd so we could enjoy the happiness any time we want. Can’t wait to see you again ASAP! And thank you for making our weekend!

Tetbury Woolsack Race

Dear Steve,

On behalf of the Tetbury Woolsack Committee may I say how pleased and delighted we all were with the Gugge 2000 band. Your enthusiasm and sheer enjoyment of playing is infectious and helped raise the spirits of all who attended on what was a cold, wet, windy and generally horrible day. Without doubt Gugge 2000 was the best attraction to hit Woolsack Day for a good number of years and we hope those in the band enjoyed themselves, even though half the attractions were forced to surrender to the elements. It was an absolute delight for a worried committee to see people who thought it was that enjoyable that they were dancing in the rain. Now everyone in the town is talking about “the Gugge Band.” I am in no doubt that a body of persons in Tetbury will have me lynched if you do not come back to visit us in 2009 so can you please enter the date in your diary, Bank Holiday Monday 25 May 2009. I will be in touch.

Bournemouth Square

Dear sir,

myself (martin judd) and my fiancée (jenni wylde) went out for a lovely sunday lunch which turned out to be fantastic !

we unexpectedly had great weather considering what had been forecast that day......So we decided to take a walk into town and find a taxi and make our way home........however !....as we walked down the hill towards Debenhams we heard music coming from the park, we continued down the hill to see what was going on when yourself and the band arrived into bournemouth square. "wow"....we stood by the bin off to your right next to the raised brass section. We stood amazed at the sound, uniforms and complete unity of the band, all at once it felt like this is the music ive always wanted to own, we asked "steve" from the brass section if you had ever had this recorded only to find you were selling the cd`s at the front, my apologies to "steve" as i just walked away to buy a CD before you were gone forever ! It was the first thing we put on when we got home and it now makes me want to go out and buy a new stereo. Ive worked at the bournemouth international centre providing backstage security and overall security for the past three years. I am now situated at the pavillion (westover road) as a front of house operative, ive overseen many shows of all genres and think that it would be wonderful for your band to consider having your very own show for all the paying public to enjoy.

Thankyou for the most fantastic end to a wonderful day, we look forward to hearing from you in the very near future.

Exeter Christmas Market

Fantastic!!!!!

I was mesmerised by the music as I hit the shops in Exeter today. I have never heard such beautiful music, and to see everyone of the band having so much fun made it even better. i was supposed to be doing the dreaded Christmas shopping but I was rooted to the spot, needless to say I have now got the cd on playing as loud as possible. Wareham Father Christmas Event

Just wanted to say what an excellent evening was spent watching you in Wareham on Sunday. Ben was kind enough to drop me a CD around earlier in the week (worth every penny) and I did mention I'd try and get to the Wareham gig as unfortunately you are not doing Bournemouth this Christmas. Just so glad the rain held off, I made the trip especially to watch yourselves and was not disappointed!
I have Asperger Syndrome, a form of autism, and your music always raises my spirits, I often try and get to see as many of your local gigs as I can, and have all three of your cds, which are all excellent. I think your music makes it feel Christmassy.
Only thing about Wareham, was where I chose to stand during the pre procession gig in the courtyard near somerfields - I leaned against the muralled wall, and was stood there about 10 mins before I realised there was a rather large spider hanging in a web not a few inches from my head......... hope it enjoyed the show as much as I did, you would have had an impromptu dancing display if it had dropped onto me....!!

Kingston Xmas Market

WOW!

A friend and I were shopping in Kingston on Sunday and saw the band; OMG it was great! We especially liked your take on “Silent Night” and the Abba medley was fabulous too; it made a fairly horrendous shopping trip a lot more fun; with all the cross-looking shoppers who were all apparently oblivious to the fact that it wasn’t actually Christmas Eve with the pace and fury in their step! Anyway, it was great to take time out and watch you guys. The level of enthusiasm and fun being had by all was genuinely awesome! Thank you for really brightening up our day; we love the CD too and hope you’ll come back to Kingston again! Having never heard you before we were really taken aback by the brilliant display you put on and we really enjoyed being able to participate and cheer you all on.

..... £5000 worth of fireworks were set off, there were around 20 stalls, and a particular highlight was the Gugge Band, playing show music on classical instruments in carinval costumes. Great Dorset Steam Fair

We have just returned from this years Great Dorset Steam Fair, as exhibitors, and our admiration grows year by year as we have enjoyed your music. This year culminated with two members standing on our table playing brass instruments. AWESOME. The music and band are both entertaining and original.

From the youngest to the oldest members, you all look as though you are having a great time playing, this is passed on to the people listening.

Chit Chat

How lovely to hear such jolly music on Wednesday night in the gardens at Bournemouth. I was on holiday from Devon and have been playing in a Brass band for more years than I would like to believe!!! What a refreshing change to hear your style it was new to me and very exhilorating (excuse the spelling) Even my husband enjoyed it and he is anti-brass as he does not share my love for brass music, give him Oasis, Embrace any day but when you played Green Day he was converted! Just looked you up on the internet like you said and hey presto. If you are in North Devon look us up or find us on the web, type in Holsworthy Town Band in Google and it should come up with something.

New CD

Hi Gugge 2000, even here in New Zealand we can hear your tunes. Well done and congratulations on the great new CD.
Before the CD could be put into our hall of greatness along with the other 2 Gugge 2000 CD's we had to put it through a series of stringent tests.

1. It easily passed the toe tap and sing along loudly test.

2. Then followed the drinking of beer test with the volume set at max yet again passed with flying colors.

3. We then had the playing continuously test but unfortunately had to abort this at about 2:30am when the neighbor's tried to gate crash by tapping the window, we still count this as a pass because the tapping and shouting were definitely in time with the music.

4. The most important test, to bring back happy memories of watching and listening to the sounds of Gugge 2000.

Kingston-upon-Thames Gig

We were shopping in Kingston on Thames a couple of weeks back (enough to drive you nuts) when we came across you performing in the town centre on one of our few dry days! Absolutely fantastic, and cheered us up no end. Unfortunately we could not hang around to have a chat or find out if you had a CD for sale as our parking fee was running out, and since it was privatised, we'd probably find our car crushed or removed! We'll watch out for any appearances up this way.

Walk of Life

Just a quick email to say how much i love your new CD - esp. "silent night" which i found by forgetting to press stop on the car's cd player!!!! Thought your gig at Wareham Folk festival was the highlight of the day, only saddend by not being able to make the 5pm one. Looking forward to seeing your performance again in the summer
